The Workplace Relations Commission found Jack Elliott’s complaint against McGuirks Golf not well founded in a decision dated 18 December 2023. Elliott said his contract referred to a 15-minute paid break that he did not receive. He generally worked from 9.30am to 6pm and took about an hour for a break around 2pm to 3pm. McGuirks said that break met statutory requirements. The adjudicator found Elliott received a one-hour break after working four and a half hours, and that the company had not breached the law.
