The Workplace Relations Commission found Cora Flynn’s complaint against Musgrave Operation Partners Ireland Supervalu was not well founded. Flynn argued that rostered overtime should count in her public holiday pay, but the WRC ruled that the national rules excluded it from that calculation. The decision was dated 24 June 2024. Flynn worked a fixed 8.5-hour day, including a half-hour paid at an overtime rate. She said she received only eight hours’ pay for public holidays and claimed €69.03 for five holidays. The officer distinguished public holiday pay from the 20 days of statutory annual leave for which European law requires rostered overtime to be included.
