The Workplace Relations Commission found that a Hotel Guest had misidentified the respondent in a complaint alleging she was refused entry to a music function because she is a member of the Traveller community. The decision, dated 24 June 2024, said the named security company was not present at the Hotel that night and was not responsible for security at the event.
The company told the WRC it had not been engaged for the function and that the named guard had never worked for it. The Hotel also supplied evidence that the company was not present and the guard was not known to it. After giving the guest three weeks to provide contrary evidence, the adjudication officer found the respondent had been misidentified and the complaint was not well founded.
