WRC rejects Monart Spa constructive dismissal complaint

The Workplace Relations Commission found Rebecca Moorehouse’s constructive dismissal complaint against Monart Spa was not well founded in a decision dated 9 February 2024. Moorehouse, who joined the spa as a receptionist in late 2021, moved into therapy work in February 2023 after training for a higher-paid role. She later asked to return to reception, saying the therapy work was unsuitable. The spa agreed to the transfer but said it could not happen until after the summer, and proposed mixed duties in the meantime. Moorehouse agreed to that arrangement but resigned in July without raising a grievance. The adjudication officer found she had not shown that the delay entitled her to end her employment.
