The Workplace Relations Commission has found that Paul Smith was paid the wages properly due to him, rejecting his claim for overtime pay. The decision was dated 26 January 2024. Smith, an Immigration Officer at Dublin Airport, claimed two hours a week from July 2022 to March 2023 should have been paid at overtime rates. The Department of Justice said those hours formed part of his standard 37-hour week. The adjudicator found that a collective agreement applied to Smith and that he had received the wages properly payable. The complaint under the Payment of Wages Act was declared not well founded.
