The Workplace Relations Commission found that Cormac O’Neill was not unfairly or constructively dismissed by Eui Private Wealth Limited. The decision was dated 16 February 2024. O’Neill, who worked as the company’s Head of Compliance and Risk, said he understood from a meeting that the board had lost confidence in him and that he was being dismissed. He also argued that he had been forced to resign. The company said he had resigned willingly and that the board had not decided to terminate his employment. The adjudication officer found no evidence of a board decision to dismiss O’Neill and concluded that he had not established constructive dismissal. The complaint under the Unfair Dismissals Act was found not well-founded.
