WRC rejects notice-pay claim against Afred Beit Foundation

The Workplace Relations Commission rejected Gary Ó Nualláin’s claim for notice pay after finding he had never been an employee of The Afred Beit Foundation. The Adjudication Officer dated the decision 21 March 2025. Ó Nualláin said the Foundation rescinded a job offer after he accepted it and sought notice payment. The Foundation said it had moved to another candidate after its deadline passed without an answer. The officer found negotiations over the role had not been finalised and the parties had no employer-employee relationship, which was required for a Payment of Wages Act claim.
