The Workplace Relations Commission upheld David Richard Efekodo’s complaints over notice, uniform deductions and missing written employment terms, awarding him €389 for one week’s gross pay, €25 for unlawful deductions and €778 for each of two terms-information breaches. The decision was dated 6 December 2023. Efekodo said he received no notice, was not given written information about his employment terms and faced deductions connected with his uniform. The adjudication officer found he was entitled to one week’s notice, and that €5 had been unlawfully deducted from five payslips. The larger €198 uniform amount had been repaid. The officer also found that required terms information had not been provided within five days or one month. Nine other complaints were withdrawn as mistaken or duplicated. The respondent did not attend the hearing, though it later asked whether the meeting could be rescheduled.
