The Workplace Relations Commission found two working-time complaints by Raymond Chawla against Aer Lingus (Ireland) Ltd not well-founded. The decision was dated 6 December 2023. Chawla had also withdrawn complaints under the Payment of Wages Act and Employment Equality Act at the hearing. One complaint concerned excessive hours during a busy project. Aer Lingus accepted Chawla’s account of his hours and said it had provided compensatory rest and monitored his workload. The parties agreed the issue had been resolved, and the WRC found the complaint not well-founded. The other complaint concerned annual leave. Chawla said the system showed him as on leave on a day he worked remotely. Aer Lingus said the leave was credited back and additional leave was granted for weekend work. The WRC found no breach within the period it could consider and found this complaint not well-founded.
