WRC rejects unfair-dismissal complaint against Dorset College

The Workplace Relations Commission found Mrs Adriana Milena Ricaurte Claro’s unfair-dismissal complaint against Computer Training Specialists Limited T/A Dorset College not well founded. The decision was dated 21 February 2024. Claro said restructuring would move her from admissions to accommodation work and that she felt pressured to resign. The college said she resigned after being offered alternative roles and an €8,000 goodwill payment, which had been paid before the decision. The adjudication officer found that Claro resigned voluntarily and was not constructively dismissed. The proposed accommodation role kept her pay and four-day working week, and the officer found the college had not acted unreasonably.
