WRC rejects Rachel Valentine’s complaints against Department of Public Finances and Expenditure

The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) did not uphold Rachel Valentine’s complaints against the Department Of Public Finances And Expenditure, finding it was not her employer. The decision was dated 8 July 2024. Valentine argued that pension contributions, pay arrangements and funding arrangements supported her claim to pay parity and restoration. The Department said her employer was Don Bosco Care CLG, which was responsible for paying her wages. The adjudicator found Valentine had been employed by Don Bosco Care CLG at all material times and had named the wrong employer. Her Payment of Wages and Terms of Employment complaints were not upheld. She withdrew two Employment Equality Act complaints during the hearing.
