The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Ceramicx Ltd to pay Maris Pavlovics €1,500 for a breach of the daily-rest requirement, and €533.61 for failing to give him statutory minimum notice. Adjudication officer Patsy Doyle’s decision was dated 9 May 2024. Pavlovics said he worked long hours without adequate rest and was treated less favourably because he was Lutheran. Ceramicx disputed his account of his hours and denied religious discrimination. The WRC found the daily-rest and minimum-notice complaints well founded, but found the complaints about wages, night work and religious discrimination were not well founded.
