WRC grants Ewa Swiniarska redundancy payment for earlier service and four more weeks' notice pay

The Workplace Relations Commission allowed Ewa Swiniarska’s appeal for statutory redundancy covering an earlier period of service and directed her former employer, Cribbin Family Butchers Limited (in liquidation), to pay four additional weeks’ pay in lieu of notice. The decision was dated 17 January 2024. The redundancy entitlement covers service from 5 September 2006 to 15 January 2015, at a gross weekly wage of €460, subject to insurable employment; she had already received redundancy payment for the later period. Her notice entitlement brings the total to eight weeks, of which four had already been paid. Her working-time complaint was withdrawn at the start of the hearing.
