The Workplace Relations Commission found a former St Vincent's Hospital clerical worker's back-pay complaint not well founded because the claim fell outside the time limit. The decision, dated 3 November 2023, concerned Miss Michelle Mangan, who had worked at the hospital since October 2002. Mangan said her salary had been calculated using incorrect working-hour assumptions from January 2009 to November 2020 and sought about €27,833 for that period. The hospital said it paid her €4,000 gross in early January 2023 as two years of back pay, and argued that her claim was out of time and that she had received her contractual wages. The officer said the complaint, filed on 2 March 2023, could cover only a more recent period, even if an extension applied. The claimed period was outside that window, so the complaint was not well founded.
