The Workplace Relations Commission found Ilyas Barka’s complaint that Google Ireland Limited discriminated against him in dismissing him not well-founded. The decision was dated 11 November 2024.
Barka said he was dismissed because he was a person of colour. Google said the dismissal followed performance concerns. Adjudication Officer Christina Ryan found Barka’s allegations speculative and unsupported by documentary evidence, and said he had not established facts from which race discrimination could be inferred. No monetary award was recorded.
