The Workplace Relations Commission has ordered Mk All About Food Ltd t/a Sami Swoi to pay Adrianna Astramowicz €107.50 for a day's unpaid work at the shop. In a decision dated 1 March 2024, the WRC accepted her repeated attempts to obtain payment as reasonable cause for extending the time limit. Astramowicz said she worked from 9am to 8.15pm on 8 August 2022 and provided text messages confirming her employment and roster. The company said she had never been employed by it. The adjudication officer found cogent evidence that she worked without receiving wages properly payable and ordered payment at €10.75 an hour.
