The Workplace Relations Commission has ordered Pobal to pay Carla Gahan €30,000 after upholding her complaint that it failed to reasonably accommodate her disability. The decision, dated 19 November 2025, was made by adjudication officer Jim Dolan.

Gahan said Pobal refused to continue her part-time hours and required her to return to full-time work or remain on unpaid sick leave. Pobal said the part-time arrangement was temporary, the role required full-time hours and it offered an eight-week phased return. The adjudication officer found that occupational health advice supporting reduced hours had largely been ignored.

The WRC made no decision on Gahan’s annual-leave complaints, saying the matter could be addressed in-house after her return to work.
