The Workplace Relations Commission found that Mirela Gagea was entitled to a statutory redundancy payment after her employment ended by reason of redundancy. The decision, dated 4 December 2023, says the payment is based on her insurable employment.
Gagea worked as a catering assistant and cashier for O.s.catering Associates from November 2007 until March 2020. She said she had not received a redundancy payment. The business manager accepted that she was entitled to one but said the business had closed during the pandemic and he could not pay.
