The Workplace Relations Commission found Rosie Tull entitled to statutory redundancy and awarded her €519.23 in notice pay and €2,284.61 for unpaid wages. The decision, dated 10 October 2023, found that her employment was continuous from 25 February 2019 to 22 March 2022, including a layoff period.
Tull, a recruitment officer for teachers, said her job was terminated while she was on maternity leave and sought outstanding payments. Direct Teacher Recruitments Specialists Limited disputed her claims, arguing her service was broken, some payments had been made and the annual leave claim was out of time. The WRC found the annual leave and public holiday complaints not well founded, but upheld complaints for notice pay and unpaid wages. The redundancy finding was subject to confirmation that her employment was insurable. The officer found no cause for further compensation.
