The Workplace Relations Commission found two of Iain Slater’s employment complaints well founded and awarded him unpaid salary, holiday pay and €4,230.77 for missing employment terms. The decision was dated 23 August 2023. Slater said PHI Consulting Engineering Limited underpaid him in June and July 2022 and did not pay him in August. The WRC awarded his gross salary for those three months at €4,583.33 per month, less sums already paid in June and July, and €846.15 for four days’ holiday. The company did not attend the hearing. The WRC also awarded four weeks’ pay, €4,230.77, after finding Slater had not received written terms for his Director of Architecture role. It rejected his redundancy complaint because he had not worked the required 104 weeks.
