The Workplace Relations Commission found it had no jurisdiction to hear Grigorios Kotsis’s Payment of Wages complaint against Heco Construction Limited in a decision dated 30 March 2023; the merits were not decided. Kotsis alleged he received €554 for 210 hours of work, was not paid for a quarantine period and had a payslip showing €600, despite an agreement for €3,000 a month. Heco said he was employed by its subcontractor, Arkadiusz Lukasiak. Kotsis accepted that Heco was not his employer. The adjudicator said Lukasiak had not been notified of the complaint or given an opportunity to respond, and the employer’s name could not be changed because the complaint against Lukasiak was outside the six-month time limit.
WRC had no jurisdiction over Grigorios Kotsis’s pay complaint
