The Workplace Relations Commission found a wage complaint by former MSD laboratory technician Bernard Ryan was not well founded. The decision was dated 13 March 2023. Ryan said €6,037.69 for 161 hours worked from 6 December 2021 to 1 January 2022 was missing from his final wages. MSD said his basic pay was paid in the current month and produced a payslip showing payment for the hours. The adjudication officer found Ryan had been paid within each month, including for the hours at issue. The officer acknowledged that differing explanations about a shift premium in Ryan’s final pay had caused confusion.
