The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Wilson Bryan €4,065.50 after finding he was unfairly dismissed by Lynn Communications Limited. The decision was dated 24 March 2023.
The company said Bryan resigned after a meeting in January 2022, while Bryan said the managing director told him he was being sacked. The adjudicator found the evidence did not establish that Bryan resigned and concluded he had been dismissed without a qualifying reason.
Bryan said he was out of work for six weeks. The adjudicator found his efforts to find work were not sustained, but considered that he had made some effort and awarded 50% of his loss: €4,065.50.
