The Workplace Relations Commission found David Morrow’s complaints about annual leave and public holiday entitlement at Abbott Laboratories, Ireland, Limited, not well founded in a decision dated 7 February 2023. Morrow said his contract promised 21 days of annual leave and that he had not received all his public holiday entitlement. The company said his 12-hour shift pattern meant annual leave was calculated in hours and that it had met its statutory obligations. The officer found Morrow received the equivalent of four working weeks of statutory annual leave. At the hearing, Morrow accepted that he had received his full statutory public holiday entitlement.
