The Workplace Relations Commission found Jaroslaw Sikorski’s complaint against Prl Group Unlimited Company was not well founded. The decision, dated 3 February 2023, concerned €60 he paid for a mandatory Certificate of Professional Competence course. Sikorski said the employer had previously paid or reimbursed the course fee and that this practice had become part of his employment terms. The WRC agreed that course funding was an implied term, but found the fee was an expense rather than wages covered by the Payment of Wages Act 1991.
