WRC finds Veronika Urgeova entitled to statutory redundancy payment

The Workplace Relations Commission found Veronika Urgeova entitled to a statutory redundancy lump sum after her employment with Helske Energy Save Limited ended by redundancy. The decision was dated 6 March 2023. Urgeova told the WRC she had not received the payment promised after her employment ended on 31 October 2021. She said she worked for the company from 15 March 2019 and earned €614.88 gross a week. The WRC accepted her uncontradicted evidence and made the entitlement subject to her having been in insurable employment during the relevant period. The company did not attend either hearing or make written submissions. A linked Payment of Wages complaint was withdrawn.
