The Workplace Relations Commission found against Oisin Mahon in three complaints over ESB Networks’ MyTime timesheet app, dated 13 December 2022. Mahon, a Network Technician, said workers who declined to use the app faced changes to their employment terms, union-related victimisation and delayed overtime and allowance payments. ESB Networks said MyTime changed work practices rather than employment terms, and that manually processing paper timesheets delayed non-base payments. The adjudication officer found that Mahon’s employment terms had not been changed unilaterally. The officer found no link between payment delays and union membership, attributing them to Mahon’s refusal to use the app. The officer also found that a delayed €4,000 payment due on 17 June 2022 did not amount to an unlawful deduction. All three complaints were not well founded.
