The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Joy Sparkes €816 in compensation after finding Taskled failed to provide written terms of employment. The decision was dated 18 January 2023. Sparkes complained that she was underpaid the minimum wage and had not received written employment terms. Taskled accepted it had initially underpaid her but said it later paid the shortfall. The officer found the payment rectified the underpayment, so the National Minimum Wage Act was not contravened. Taskled said the terms had been provided verbally and accepted that it breached the written-terms law. The officer upheld that complaint and awarded compensation equal to two weeks’ wages. The minimum-wage complaint was rejected because the shortfall had been repaid.
