WRC rejects chef manager’s complaint over expanded duties

The Workplace Relations Commission found Andrzej Karkus’s complaint over expanded duties not well founded in a decision dated 4 October 2023. Karkus, a chef manager at The Q Café Company Limited, said he was assigned responsibility for another department without agreement and received only half his 2021 bonus after refusing the extra work. The company said the duties remained within his existing terms of employment. The officer considered submissions from both sides and found that the complaint failed.
