The Workplace Relations Commission found that Aon Ireland Limited did not unlawfully withhold a performance bonus from former employee Luciana De Castro. Its decision was dated 18 October 2022. De Castro said she had worked for the relevant 2021 performance year and submitted her self-evaluation before leaving the company, but the bonus remained unpaid. Aon said employees had to remain employed and on its payroll on the payout date, generally in March, to qualify. The adjudicator found that this was an express condition of the scheme, so no unlawful deduction had occurred. Her complaints about payment in lieu of notice and holiday pay were withdrawn.
