WRC awards Oyinprebi Olobio €6,000 over unpaid wages and annual leave

The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Khemraj Odoye t/a OK Consultancy to pay Oyinprebi Olobio €6,000 in compensation after upholding complaints about unpaid wages and annual leave. The decision was dated 13 February 2023. Olobio worked as a legal executive from September 2020 until May 2021. She said she was owed wages for April and May, an agreed salary increase and pay for unused annual leave. The respondent did not attend the hearing, but later told the WRC he did not dispute the claims and would accept any order. The WRC found her evidence credible and noted that the respondent had acknowledged the debts in writing. It awarded €5,000 for outstanding wages, the salary increase and notice pay, plus €1,000 for annual leave. A separate notice-pay complaint was withdrawn as a duplicate, and any further repayments were to be deducted from the award.
