The WRC found that a hospital catering assistant was not unfairly dismissed. The decision was dated 2 August 2022.
The assistant argued that dismissal was too severe. The hospital said she was unfit for duty and that her conduct raised safety concerns, including an incident involving scissors and later calls to a manager.
The adjudication officer found the dismissal reasonable and substantively fair. The officer identified a procedural flaw because the calls were not raised during the investigation, but found it insufficient to make the dismissal procedurally unfair.
