WRC dismisses Ruth Murphy’s complaints over settlement and time limits

The Workplace Relations Commission dismissed Ruth Murphy’s unfair dismissal and protected disclosure complaints. The decision was dated 5 August 2022; the merits were not decided. Murphy’s unfair dismissal claim had been covered by a 2016 settlement agreement, which the adjudicator found enforceable. Her protected disclosure complaint related to an alleged contravention in 2015 but was lodged in 2021, outside the time limit. Murphy had said delays in receiving employment documents explained the later complaint.
