Robert Osowicz entitled to redundancy payment from Rathkeale House Hotel

The Workplace Relations Commission found Robert Osowicz entitled to statutory redundancy pay after Rathkeale House Hotel closed in December 2019. The decision was dated 20 February 2023. Osowicz had worked one day a week at the hotel for several years and began his employment in February 2015. He had been on extended sick leave but intended to return when recovered. The adjudicator extended the time for bringing the claim after finding reasonable cause. The WRC said the payment should be based on a gross weekly wage of €110, subject to a €600 ceiling. It did not state the final payment amount.
