The WRC found Anne Maher’s complaints against Johnnies Fish and Chips Limited well founded and directed the company to pay €560.55 for a redundancy shortfall and €303 in lieu of notice. The decision was dated 21 February 2022. Maher said her redundancy payment did not account for service with EOT Enterprises Limited before her employment transferred to Johnnies Fish and Chips Limited in January 2018. The WRC found her service ran continuously from 18 June 2016 to 23 July 2020, making her statutory redundancy entitlement €1,393.80. After €833.25 already paid, the shortfall was €560.55. The officer also found she was entitled to two weeks’ notice and had received none. The decision treated two other complaints as adjudicated under the minimum-notice complaint. The total compensation directed across the two upheld complaints was €863.55.
