The Workplace Relations Commission found Jean Murray’s disability discrimination and reasonable accommodation complaint against Dictamin Limited Hannon's Supervalu Ratoath was not well founded. The decision was dated 13 January 2023. The case concerned Murray’s visit to the respondent’s retail premises on 1 January 2021. She said staff challenged her mask exemption and treated her rudely and disrespectfully. The respondent denied the claims and said it offered her alternatives to in-person shopping, including home delivery or delivery to her car. The WRC found Murray had not established that she had a disability within the Equal Status Act’s definitions or that the respondent treated her less favourably because of an alleged disability. It also found she had not established that reasonable accommodation was denied. The complaint was not well founded.
