The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Ana Lacramioara Manciu €15,058.25 in minimum wage arrears after finding that Stablefield Limited had significantly underpaid her and falsified her working hours. The decision was dated 24 February 2022.

Manciu, who worked as a mushroom picker before becoming harvest manager, said she worked from about 6am until after 9pm, six or seven days a week. She said the hours on records she was asked to sign were far shorter than the hours she actually worked.

The adjudicator accepted Manciu’s evidence and found that the company had deliberately altered records to conceal hours and pay below the national minimum wage. The arrears covered the 12 months from 16 September 2015 to 16 September 2016; the WRC also awarded her €2,000 towards expenses.
