The WRC awarded John Healy €2,520 in unpaid wages and holiday pay and found he was entitled to a redundancy lump sum from Ashgrove Interparts Limited in a decision dated 28 February 2022. Healy said his employment ended by redundancy and that wages remained unpaid after the Covid-19 lay-off. The company said it had ended his employment with notice and that no redundancy situation applied. The adjudicator found the company had work available after 10 June 2020 but did not allow Healy to return to his delivery duties, and others took over his routes. The redundancy lump sum was based on service from 9 June 2004 to 12 January 2021 and gross weekly pay of €180, subject to insurable employment. For the later unpaid period, the WRC found Healy was owed 13 weeks’ wages and holiday pay, and ordered the company to pay €2,520 compensation.
