The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) found Aztec Entertainment Ltd unlawfully deducted wages from Ewa Stawska and ordered it to pay her €1,500. The decision was dated 19 January 2023. Stawska told the WRC she had worked part time for the company for nearly seven years, earning about €280 a week. She said she was removed from the payroll without notice and did not receive four weeks’ pay in lieu of notice. The company did not attend the hearing, but the adjudicator was satisfied it had been notified. Based on Stawska’s uncontested evidence, the WRC found her Payment of Wages Act complaint well founded and directed the employer to pay her €1,500.
