The Workplace Relations Commission awarded translator Kamile Puodziulaityte €300 after finding her complaint against Word Perfect Translations Ltd well founded under the Payment of Wages Act. The decision was dated 28 September 2022. Puodziulaityte worked for the company from September 2020 but was not paid for October, November and December until January 2021. The company argued that it had paid her before the hearing and that no contravention remained. The adjudicator found the missed pay dates breached the Act and that compensation could address the loss caused by delay, even though the wages had since been paid. The award comprised €150 for the October delay, €100 for November and €50 for December.
