The Workplace Relations Commission found Ade Olanrewaju’s complaint against Synergy Security Solutions Ltd over a disabled parking space at Wilton Shopping was not well founded. The decision was dated 12 January 2022.
Olanrewaju said a security guard acted disrespectfully and aggressively after asking him to move his car from a marked disabled space. He said he had displayed his parking permit; the guard said none was visible. CCTV did not establish whether the permit was on display.
The adjudication officer found that asking to see the permit did not amount to discrimination or harassment, and considered the guard’s conduct professional and courteous. The complaint was not well founded.
