WRC dismisses Jennifer Sneyd’s redundancy payment complaint

The Workplace Relations Commission dismissed Jennifer Sneyd’s redundancy payment complaint against Debenhams Retail Ireland Limited (In Liquidation) after she failed to attend a hearing. The WRC found the complaint not well founded; the merits were not decided. Sneyd, who worked as a supervisor, said she had not received the correct redundancy payment and was entitled to an additional four weeks under the Debenhams agreement. The company said she had received her statutory payment from the Social Insurance Fund. The adjudication officer said Sneyd had been notified of the hearing and dismissed the complaint after she failed to attend. The decision was dated 16 January 2023.
