The Workplace Relations Commission found that Irwin Shaw was not unfairly dismissed by Schivo Medical Limited and rejected his minimum-notice complaint. The decision was dated 25 February 2022. The adjudicator found that repeated defects in components Shaw had approved showed he had not consistently followed work instructions. Although the defective parts were not shown to him during the investigation, the adjudicator found the defects existed and that the dismissal was reasonable in light of the final warning, retraining and improvement programme, and the risks to patients and the business.
