The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Tomasz Skrzypczak €16,384.68 after finding he was unfairly dismissed by Eco - Tech Building Solutions Ltd. The award equals 26 weeks’ gross pay. Adjudication Officer Patsy Doyle dated the decision 14 December 2021.
Skrzypczak, a plasterer and tiler, said he was dismissed after refusing to clean a roof without supporting scaffolding on safety grounds. The adjudicator found there was no identified investigation and that Skrzypczak had not been heard before the dismissal. Four other complaints, including a discrimination complaint, were withdrawn; unfair dismissal was the only complaint pursued.
