The Workplace Relations Commission ordered a café or restaurant to pay a chef €3,000 net for six weeks of unpaid wages. The decision was dated 5 April 2018. The chef said he left after suppliers were not being paid and he could not contact the owner. The respondent did not attend the hearing. The WRC found the wages complaint well founded, but found there was no basis for notice pay because the chef had not been dismissed.
