The Workplace Relations Commission directed a tyre and service store to pay a motor mechanic €100 because it had not given him written notice of a change to his employment terms. The decision was dated 8 May 2017. The mechanic also claimed the store unlawfully reduced his wages by €100 a week when it demoted him from manager to motor mechanic. The WRC found he had been told verbally about the change and pay reduction, so that complaint was not well founded.
