The Workplace Relations Commission awarded a head chef €700 after finding he had not been given a contract of employment within the required time. The decision was dated 9 February 2017. The chef said he had not received a contract. The catering company said it had supplied one, but not within the period required by law. The adjudication officer found the complaint well founded and awarded compensation. The chef’s separate Payment of Wages complaint was withdrawn at the hearing.
