The Labour Court upheld a Rights Commissioner's recommendation in a National Busworkers' Union appeal over pay for a cancelled extra duty on a Spring Show special train from Galway. The decision was signed on 16 November 1989. The worker sought payment for a revised roster after the train was cancelled the afternoon before it was due to run. Irish Rail said staff were paid for time worked and had about 12 hours' notice. The Court cited the absence of any loss of normal rostered hours and the notice given, and left the recommendation in place.
