Swords residents challenge 278-unit apartment planning permission

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Residents Kevin O’Reilly, Carolyn Watkins and Michael Biggins were granted permission to challenge An Bord Pleanála’s planning decision in the High Court, as reported on 26 March 2021. The decision allowed MKN Property Group to build 278 homes at Fosterstown North and Cremona Forest Road in Swords, north Dublin.

Mr Justice Richard Humphreys admitted the case to the strategic infrastructure development list and adjourned it to the following month. The residents seek to quash the permission, alleging concerns about environmental assessment procedures, project splitting, building heights, bat fauna and compliance with the Fingal development plan.
