Update (1) High Impact Search Operation targeting Criminal Activity in Cork City- 2nd September 2026

Gardaí conducted a high-impact search operation targeting criminal activity in Cork City on 2 September 2026. The operation involved multiple units and agencies, including the Armed Support Unit, Dog Unit, and Serious Crime Investigation Units. Searches were conducted at six properties in the Mahon area, resulting in the seizure of €6000 in cash, €1000 of suspected heroin, €600 of suspected crack cocaine, and various weapons and vehicles. The NSPCA seized 10 dogs, 1 pony, and 1 horse. A male in his 20s was arrested and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. Investigations are ongoing.
